Evaluation

My finished work piece is a college magazine, to produce so, I had to use different programmes, such as Microsoft Word, mainly for changing to a JPEG, Adobe in design for the production of the front cover and Adobe Photoshop for the contents design and structure. By looking at my previous blog work, you'll be able to see some of the steps that I had to take in order to get to the final stages of my magazine. During the process of the magazine production, I had to use different tools which I haven't used before such as the magic wand tool, which allowed me to remove/rub out  not need parts of an image. Also I had to use the selection tool above it, which allowed me to move the imagine about and place it in the right position. the photography i used was taken on my Iphone, so the images aren't of perfect quality. As you can see i used my practice magazine to inspire my own cover. however i feel that i done better on the practice front cover. IT has a better image which stands out more. i could easily improve this, as its the quality of the image stand out. as you can see i have used colour schemes in both pieces of work.
SELF EVALUATION

For me, what went well was the colour scheme, even though it is very mediocre, i feel that i used to colour tools well, pretty much matching up the colours of the text to certain colours in the image. For example the lilac colour of the braids, matching up to the lilac colour font. similarly in the practice front cover, the blue in the mast head is almost identical to the blue lips in the main image. A class mate of mine commented on the use of the font on my contents page. 

What i need to improve on. as you can see there is a lot of white space of my front cover, i feel as if my front cover in too simple. i tried to use shapes such as the stars, making a few of the puffs to fill up space, however i don't think it worked too well. Also by looking at my 'final' product, the font itself could be improved. especially on the front cover, as it looks too plain and does not stand out to the eye. Also i could have used pull quotes and/ or drop capitals to make it look more realistic.
